SKATEBOARDING IS A CRIME | TONIGHT!

A by-law passed by the City of Cape Town has made skateboarding illegal on any public road, though very little is being done to build skateparks in and around the city.

“Skateboarding is a Crime” is an exhibition of illustrations by Gerhard Human in collaboration with Woodies Ramps.

12 unique illustrations will be for sale at a ridiculously low price. Hand printed in edition of 30, numbered and signed.

ALL PROCEEDS will go to the development of skateparks in South Africa.

The exhibition opens at 6:30pm on Thursday, 26 April at The Pit, next to Clarke’s Bar and Dining Room on 133 Bree Street, Cape Town. The show will run for a week after.

For more info check the facebook page HERE.

SUPPORT WOODIES RAMPS AND WIN

Woodies Ramps is a Cape Town based skateboard ramp building company. They build other stuff too, but enjoy building ramps and skate obstacles the most. Woodies has a pretty simple mission, to build skateparks all over South Africa, developing local skateboarding communities. Current projects include the development of the skatepark in Edgemead. Woodies were also largely involved with the woodwork at the Maloof Plaza skatepark in Kimberley.

Woodies has a monthly prize draw with some really great prizes to its supporters. This month’s prizes are a brand new pair of Fallen “The Mission” shoes and a Billy Marks Toy Machine board, both kindly sponsored by Revolution Long Street. Everyone who makes a donation of R100 or more is automatically entered into the draw. It’s a great way to spend some cash and who knows, you might strike it super lucky!
