SKÅL EXHIBITION PHOTO GALLERY
Photos from the opening of the Skål Exhibition; Artist Edition Glassware Inspired by Norse Mythology. The exhibition took place at A Store in Cape Town last night, and featured work by Jean De Wet, Simon Berndt, Jade Klara, Dani Loureiro, Kronk, Cassandra Johnson, Studio Muti, and Ben Johnston.

What’s your day job?
Graphic designer at an advertising agency.
What kind of art do you make and enjoy?
Illustrations, paintings, vector designs, plush toys. I love simplicity.
Other than that, what do you get up to in your free time?
I like going for a run and doing some outdoor activities, hanging out with friends, eating and occasionally DJing.
Who are some of your favourite artists?
Jordan Metcalf, Kronk, Adam Hill, Aled Lewis, Brock Davis and Pierneef.
Are there any particular things that inspire your work?
Other artist’s work, typography and the spoken word, nature, books and magazines or everyday objects and activities. I love observing things and people.
Do you have any projects lined up for 2011?
I am currently busy with a project called NFS (Not For Sale). I make a painting and then hang it up in the city (CT), I post a photo of it in situ online and the first person to get to it, gets to keep it. I am trying to make 2 paintings a month. In addition to this I will continue making T-Shirt designs to submit to Threadless. It’s an ongoing design competition so I am always inspired to submit more designs. I am also looking at starting my own T-Shirt range.

VERB EXHIBITION IN AUSTRALIA
On Friday 24 September, Verb officially launched in Australia with the “Don’t Push Mong” exhibition at the City Walk Gallery in Canberra. The exhibition featured the Verb series of artworks by South African artists Alice Edy, Kronk, Bruce Mackay, Wesley van Eeden, Jordan Metcalf, Black Koki, Theory One, Bison, Chemistry101, Christian Mugnai, Louis Minaar and 351073. These works were shown alongside other Australian skateboarding photographers and artists. The show was a great success, with tons of people coming in to check of the fresh styles.
