Half Price Sessions and discounts off ALL skate goods set the scene for a day of stoke and
a hella lot of what the day is all about… SKATEBOARDING. These sort of “official” unofficial days bring such a vibe to the park and the skate scene in general (Why is this only one day a year?). It’s so rad to see how many new skaters were coming out the cracks (This may have been just from the Red Bull Promo Girls!).
We kicked off with the events at 11am sharp with a local favorite game of S.K.A.T.E Rho Sham Bo’s down Grant Edwards walked away with the goods. 12pm Kicked off the RED BULL manual contest getting underway saw the local big guns coming out with Dlamini Dlamini, Khule Nia and GVB making an appearance. After a 30 minute jam some insane tech tricks went down. Finally GVB walked away with a case of RED BULL for his Heel flip Manuel Front Side Blunt.

The affects of the promo RED BULLS had taken there toll on about 90% of the kids demanding some product tosses a quick throw out of Tee’s a few hundred stickers had silenced the product hungry…for now. The next event was probably the most hyped of the day everyone will tell you the HIP at the Revolution Park is the hip it’s mellow and just sick.

The Jam session got under away and it was clear this was going to be sick… some of the tricks that went down, a HUGE Nollie Backside Flip, kick flip late shuv it, Big spin double flip, hard flip tail grab, nollie front 360 heel flip but Dlamini killed it with a smooth Nollie front side 180 late flip.

Next up was Best Trick jam on the flat bar this was tight with Dlamini nailing an insane Switch Heel Board within the first few minutes, Khule with a swift Flip front Feeble and Miles Davis with a HUGE 270 Front flip at about Mach 2 it took it the best trick with that pure gnarly factor. Winding down saw a rather fun challenge who can do the most consecutive kick flips sounds mediocre sure but I guarantee you after 5 or so you would think so, Khule is a beast doing 25 scoring himself some goods.

As with all events now was the product toss these things bring out the evil in kids, kids were killing themselves for the shiny vinyl gifts from the product gods, after some other product went out another few hundred stickers the day was done.

Big shout out to Revolution, Chris from RED BULL, NikeSB, Killer, Iron Fist, DC, KFD, Volcom, DVS, Lakai and Familia and loads more for putting out all of the prizes not to forget all the kids, mall rats and even the scooter kid who came out to shred, get some cred and simply hang out.
