SKATEBOARDING IS A CRIME | TONIGHT!

A by-law passed by the City of Cape Town has made skateboarding illegal on any public road, though very little is being done to build skateparks in and around the city.

“Skateboarding is a Crime” is an exhibition of illustrations by Gerhard Human in collaboration with Woodies Ramps.

12 unique illustrations will be for sale at a ridiculously low price. Hand printed in edition of 30, numbered and signed.

ALL PROCEEDS will go to the development of skateparks in South Africa.

The exhibition opens at 6:30pm on Thursday, 26 April at The Pit, next to Clarke’s Bar and Dining Room on 133 Bree Street, Cape Town. The show will run for a week after.

For more info check the facebook page HERE.

ADIDAS JOBURG LAUNCH

After the Cape Town Launch at Baseline, the adidas team Jansen Van staden, Khulu Dlamini and Pieter Retief, accompanied by Joubert Van Staden, Marcel Maasen and Leon Bester made their way to JHB for the launch at Festival Mall.

The concept for the JHB launch was based around a Mystery Obstacle. Friday Night the obstacle was being set up and Saturday it got revealed to all the skaters.

There were free hot dogs and free drinks for everyone.

The skating was sick. Everyone seemed to find a different way to skate it. Tricks went down left right and centre. JP Du Preez got rewarded for his creativity and took home a new pair of adidas Busenitz.

Thanks to adidas for leaving the obstacle in the park, big thanks to the Festival staff for their help.
